ELMHURST, Ill. – The Crusaders’ Josiah Brendemuehl (Mishicot, Wis.) led the Crusaders with a fifth place individual finish Saturday, at the Al Hanke Invitational Tournament in Elmhurst, Ill.
Brendemuehl lost his first match, but went on to record his fourth win of the season with a 7-4 decision against Kyle Perea of MSOE.
In his final match, Brendemuehl won a 7-3 decision against Will Pederson of MSOE to claim fifth place.
Sophomore wrestler Phil Hadley (Owosso, Mich.) wrestled well in his second match against Joe Ellis of University of Chicago, losing a tight 3-2 decision.
In other action, sophomore wrestler Ricky Warren (Ohlman, Ill.) lost two matches by decision, with scores of 11-5 and 7-2.
Freshman wrestlers Jordan Dersch (Prattville, Ala.) and Roberto Kennard (Houston, Texas) both lost by fall in two matches apiece.
The Crusaders move on to the Pete Wilson Invitational in Wheaton Ill., January 28-29. The Crusaders will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
